D) Implant Supported Dentures

Implants can be used to support dentures, to avoid the appliance from moving around. Lack of retention from a denture, especially in the lower jaw is a common concern. In the lower jaw, four implants can be placed in the front of the jaw to help hold the denture in place. In the upper jaw, six implants are required due to the presence of softer bone.
Sometimes the old denture can be used as long as it’s considered satisfactory.

All-in-one visit
When the bone density is good, it’s possible to bring implants in function on the same day, which is convenient especially if the old denture is going to be used. This is made possible by special gold coping, which are incorporated in the denture at the time that the implants are placed.
